An exciting opportunity has arisen to help SENDIASS continuously improve. The SENDIASS Development Manager will support the delivery of a responsive service, which can meet the increasing needs of children and young people with SEND and their families. The role will lead on and manage specific projects to increase service reach by creating and implementing a high-quality outreach and training initiative, conduct research and produce a range of reports.
Hertfordshire SENDIASS is a statutory service providing free, confidential and impartial information, advice and support on matters related to special educational needs and disability (SEND). This offer is for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND up to 25 years and the children and young people themselves.
The county-wide role will engage with families and stakeholders to raise awareness of the service and increase knowledge of SEND legislation as well as local policy and practice. Research and analysis of need will be required to develop and deliver a training offer that is compliant with the national minimum standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, developing and supervising a small team. They will be required to develop and maintain the service brand and profile by engaging with a wide range agencies, families and colleagues. They would be required to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, be flexible and self-motivated. The role requires analysing data and disseminating information to a wide audience. The post holder would be required to work well within a team as well as on their own initiative.

In light of this, the ability to drive and/or travel around the County is required for this role a DVLA check will be required on appointment.
English Fluency: The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
