Driver Training Officer Job at Hertfordshire County Council – Hertford
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably dynamic and business focussed individual to join Hertfordshire County Council’s (HCC) Driver Training Team. As part of a wider effort to continually reduce road collisions, deaths and injuries, the post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS) behaviour change programme delivered by HCC on behalf of the Police. The successful candidate will possess strong, communication, business, quality assurance skills Road Safety knowledge, behavioural change skills and auditing experience to ensure and maintain the scheme is delivery to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
The job also includes responsibility for maintaining of minibus driver assessment schemes, winter driving courses, passenger assistant training and other similar initiatives in support of ‘Work Related Road Safety’ initiatives.

Driving Roles Only: As part of this role, you will be required to travel to other HCC Sites/Residences either using your own mode of transport or a company car. In light of this, the ability to drive and/or travel around the County is required for this role a DVLA check will be required on appointment.
English Fluency: The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
