Historic Preservation Planner I Job at City of Phoenix – 4.2 Phoenix, AZ
Ability to provide an excellent customer service interaction.
Ability to multitask (i.e. handling significant problems and tasks which come up simultaneously and/or unexpectedly with strict deadlines).
Ability to explain technical details in a nontechnical manner.
$51,771.20 – $78,769.60 annually. Candidates may be hired up to $78,769.60 depending upon qualifications.

Bachelor’s degree in city or urban planning, landscape architecture, engineering, architecture, political science, or a related field
One year of planning experience
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
Experience with Historic Preservation planning.
Experience maintaining a geodatabase of eligible properties for the Historic Property Register.
Experience with the Secretary of Interior Standards and the General Design Guidelines for Historic Properties.
Ability to communicate in Spanish language is preferred.
Experience applying local, state and federal requirements and regulations related to zoning and building codes.
Experience creating maps using GIS and AutoCAD software including digitizing and data manipulation procedures for geographic information systems.
Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver’s license, and have an acceptable driving record.
