Applications are being sought for the position of Learning and Development Support Officer (VPS3) within the Justice Learning Team, People and Workplace Services. This position is fixed term, full time for two years.
This is a great opportunity to have a big impact on the department. The Justice Learning Team are a small team of L&D professionals who provide learning opportunities for all staff across the department. These programs can be in a live or online format. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to the alignment of the Justice Learning Program to the department’s Statement of Direction.
This role is central to the coordination, marketing and delivery of these programs. The successful applicant will be encouraged to grow their skills in all areas of learning and development and get involved in the creation and delivery of well targeted learning solutions.
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (department) consists of a large and diverse workforce working from a variety of locations throughout the State of Victoria. The department manages a wide range of portfolios including Corrections Victoria, Youth Justice, Civil Justice, Emergency Management Victoria, Liquor, Gaming and Racing and Consumer Affairs Victoria.
People and Workplace Services’ core functions span the breadth of workplace cultural and people matters, including human resources policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment, redeployment and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; occupational health and safety management; and employment regulations.
People and Workplace Services’ Learning and Development Team is responsible for five areas of learning and development activities in the Department of Justice & Community Safety (DJCS) – Corporate, Youth Justice, Corrections Victoria, learning and performance systems and accredited training via the DJCS Registered Training Organisation.
Learning and Development Corporate, through the Justice Learning Team, is responsible for the deployment of corporate learning and organisational development activities such as leadership and management programs, corporate induction, the Justice learning program, regional learning programs, managing and responding to employee engagement surveys, workforce planning, performance planning and learning consultancy services.
About the role
Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
Managing, designing, facilitating and administering the DJCS induction, and other related tasks
Managing and administering the Justice Learning Program (JLP)
JLP activity reporting and JLP evaluation reporting
Collaborating with the Justice Learning Team on learning and development consultancy projects
As our ideal candidate you will posses:
Ability to manage and coordinate events (online and face to face)
Demonstrated knowledge of the training industry and learning and development project work.
Understanding of how to administer, design, develop, facilitate and evaluate learning and development activities and events.
Demonstrated experience managing your time and resources efficiently to achieve set goals
Ability to consistently meet and even exceed customer expectations by providing support in a timely manner
Ability to form and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders by managing their expectations and desired outcomes
