Job DescriptionWe are looking for aSenior Gas Market Managerto lead a subset of ourNorth America Gas Markets teambased inHouston.The North America Gas markets team delivers world class research, data, insight and analysis to a wide range of clients, including detailed regional and global market fundamentals analysis, macro industry trends, project and market events and corporate insights.
The Gas & LNG research practice at Wood Mackenzie leverages unique, proprietary information and modelling to serve clients, and together we work with a range of clients including national and major oil companies, operators, investment banks and institutional investors. About The Day To Day Responsibilities Of The Role
You will manage a small team of people, processes and systems to deliver our core gas content in the Americas research team. The manager will be responsible for the development of analysts, coaching and mentoring the team through learning ‘on the job’ and providing career development guidance. Directing and controlling the delivery of high-quality content to clients and internal stakeholders, managing resource plans and ensuring the team achieves its standards and targets are core to the role.
You will be responsible for the efficient delivery of research, the development and coaching of your direct reports, team process & systems enhancements, ensure the delivery of reports, content, tools and models to internal/external clients on agreed deadlines, deal with complex internal inquiries and lead end-to-end delivery of key projects and initiatives within the gas team. You will foster an open, innovative and dynamic team environment where unconventional thinking is encouraged.
You will be able to prioritise what matters to clients and your team. Given your engagement with your network of senior-level clients and contacts, you will understand their business and priorities and translate that into valuable analysis and data. You will also have the opportunity to lead wider transformation projects and new initiatives. Internally, you will ensure team members improve workflow efficiency and the timeliness and quality of deliverables.
You will also work with client management and consulting to generate new research, sales and consulting opportunities.
About you and how you can excel in this role
You have either worked in an energy markets role, consulting business or have been directly involved in a commercial gas related role with an industry participant. You have deep industry knowledge, a strong understanding and passion for market analysis and a track record or recognised potential in coaching others.
You are keen to develop your management skills, ideally having previously led or coached a small team, but this is not essential. Contributing to setting business priorities, including the technical direction of your team, is important to you in how you lead, evaluate and develop your team of professionals.
