As Sr. Counsel, U.S. Public Sector, you will report to the Associate General Counsel for US Public Sector, and will provide legal support for Databricks’ US Federal and US State, Local and

Education(SLED) teams, in addition to providing general legal support to Databricks as an integrated part of the Databricks global legal team.

You willdraft and negotiate, among other things, government contracts, teaming agreements, prime/sub contracts, and partner agreements.

You haveexperience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency supplements, information technology licenses, intellectual property (IP) rights, and data security.

You havethe skills to operate autonomously and creatively work through issues. Additionally, you will be involved in an array of other areas working with the rest of Databricks’ global legal team, facing cutting-edge legal issues while supporting a company that is changing the way the world uses data.

The impact you will have:
Apply an understanding of government contracting, compliance, data security and privacy matters to address issues with potential customers during negotiation and quickly close deals

Review and negotiate a variety of contracts, including information technology licenses, SaaS agreements, and partner agreements

Advise on compliance related matters and help establish compliance systems

Help further the status of the legal department as a respected and valued resource within the company

What we look for:

Minimum of 6 years legal experience focused on government contracting, compliance, and related matters at a top law firm, in-house, or in-government. The ideal candidate has both private and public sector experience.

Cradle-to-grave experience with federal, state, and local government contracting, with a focus on cloud, software or software-as-a-service, and professional services

Excellent knowledge of U.S. public sector procurement laws, regulations and procedures in the U.S. including FAR and agency supplements, state and local laws, and commercial terms, applicable to direct and channel (reseller, aggregator, strategic integrator, and other partner) sales models

Experience withcybersecurity regulations such as FedRAMP, DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST 800-171, and CMMCSubstantial experience negotiating complex, commercial transactions involving security, privacy and IP issues
