What You Need for this Position

  • Experience as an Electrical Engineer
  • US Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Clearance
  • Experience in system level designs including specifications, documentation, drawings, and request for quotes to third party providers
  • Ability to review system requirements and generate Statements of Work for vendors to facilitate procurement of components or systems
  • Working knowledge of system level designs via block diagrams, schematics, wiring harnesses, and purchase components or systems
  • Experience in EMI control, suppression, and understanding of effects and mitigation
  • Digital and analog circuit designs, signal processing, or system level controls
  • Support travel and off-site work as needed
  • Understanding of embedded C or C++ utilizing limited resources desirable (Plus)
  • Understanding of FPGA operation and programing using VHDL or Verilog (Plus)
  • Experience in schematic capture, PWB design, and simulation tools (Plus)
  • Working knowledge of control systems in either motion or data processing (Plus)
  • Experience in MIL standards and their application to critical designs (Plus)
  • Hands-on experience with optical systems, telescopes, laser systems, or space systems (Plus)
  • Previous experience with DoD, IC, government, aerospace, or finance industry (Plus)

What You Will Be Doing

  • Produce electrical concepts and designs for a wide variety of hardware and projects
  • Work with fabrication shops and vendors to complete fabrication of designs
  • See designs through to successful integration and test
  • Show investigative and trouble-shooting skills to assess issues and develop resolutions in the lab and in the field
  • Work proactively to complete tasks with some modest direction
  • Communicate effectively with project management, customers, and team members across disciplines
  • Attend technical interchange meetings with the team members and other project personnel, and represent the organization in matters pertaining to project development
  • Provide status on assigned tasks and program schedules
  • Provide document review and resolve technical engineering and integration issues
